While cheaper metals are commonly used for making food strainers, the Elisabeth Nielsen strainer set is made only of the finest quality stainless steel. We are proud to offer our customers the best kitchen products for both functionality and good health, so we make sure to research the materials we use.
Here are five reasons stainless steel is a material of choice in the best kitchens.
Modern, High-end Appearance: Stainless steel appliances are desirable because they give the whole room a modern look. The look of stainless steel comes at a higher price than other appliances, but the effect is much more than the actual cost might indicate. Today, stainless steel is available in several different finishes, including shiny silver, matte silver, and even black. For pots and pans, stainless has a shine that makes its aluminum counterparts look old and dull.
Corrosion Resistance: Pots, pans, food strainers, utensils, etc. made from stainless steel last for many years because they don’t corrode. Not only do they last, but they keep their new appearance for a long time also.
Strength: Stainless steel is not only good looking, but it’s strong as well. Utensils aren’t easily bent and pots and pans don’t dent. A fine mesh colander or tea strainer will have a flexible surface, so they can be bent, but since ours are made of stainless steel, they won’t tear or fray.
Hygienic: An important quality for anything in the kitchen is that it is hygienic. Stainless steel meets a high bar here too, because it is easy to clean, non-reactive to cleansers, kitchen acids (like vinegar), or heat. Its nonporous surface means it won’t harbor harmful bacteria in areas that are impossible to clean and spread them to foods it comes in contact with later. The tea infuser ball and colander set can also be run through the dishwasher to sanitize them.
Temperature Range: Stainless steel works well at all normal kitchen temperatures. It isn’t commonly used for freezing, but there’s no reason it can’t be, and it has been the most desirable material for cooking pots for decades, at least.
We know that our customers not only want the best quality for themselves, but also for their families and friends who come to their homes. We’re proud to say we use only SAE 304 stainless steel in our fine mesh food strainer set as well as our tea infuser strainers.
